THE EUROPEAN EDTECH POLICY MAP

GOAL 4
Evidence is used to develop, select and implement EdTech tools and services.

A lack of impact evidence, diverse training data, and clear standards hampers informed procurement decisions and scalability in EdTech. This results in biased AI systems, reduced effectiveness and learner engagement, and raises ethical and legal concerns related to regulatory compliance. It also contributes to missed opportunities for innovation and a widening digital divide, ultimately reducing the uptake and trust in EdTech.

If this goal is achieved:

Tools are refined through real classroom evidence, educators gain agency in shaping technology, and both failures and successes are identified and documented early, strengthening institutional capacity for evidence-informed innovation and reducing the risk of scaled adoption of ineffective tools and services.
